BRG Newsletter March 17, 2015

Today’s speaker was Ellen Siegel. She has been a financial planner and a financial educator for over three decades. She is a fee-based Certified Financial Planner practitioner, a Chartered Financial Consultant and a Chartered Life Underwriter. She offers financial planning services and securities through, LPL Financial, LLC (LPL). Ellen served on the national committee creating the questions for the credentialing exam for the CFP designation. She also served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Miami for 10 years.

She holds a Master’s Degree from Goddard College. She is also an enthusiastic outdoors lover, and she is an active volunteer park ranger for the Everglades National Park, leading canoe and hiking adventures for adults and children. Her civic commitments include current board membership of the South Florida National Parks Trust, and past service on the boards of Temple Beth Or, the Financial Planning Association of Miami, and the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida.

Ellen loves entertaining her friends at home and she speaks Morse code at 60 words per minute!

Ellen works with a team of great professionals:

Karen Caselli has over two decades of experience in the financial world. Her background includes experience in the bank brokerage industry as well as financial planning. She has been a Series 6 licensed Investment Company Products and Variable Contracts Representative since 1992 and obtained her Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 1996. Karen holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of South Carolina.

Mary Larrick is the company’s office manager. She is very detail-oriented and has a background in IT with a degree in Computer Information Systems.

Natalie Kaminsky is in charge of social media working closely with their web master.

They also have an administrative assistant that works in the mornings, she answers the phones, scans all the clients’ documents and tackles whatever new task comes her way.

Ellen explained that investors who base their investments in past performance don’t know what they are doing. It is very important to have a diversified and balance portfolio to have steady gains.
