Our speaker today was Scott Mokher, a fifth generation Floridian. He is the youngest of four sons and a co-owner of a family-run company aptly named Mokher Plumbing founded by his father in 1968, a business that was based on ethics and quality of work.
He has been married to his wife Sandi for 15 years, and they have a 6-year-old son. He likes fishing, and bird hunting. He and his wife love traveling and camping with their church group, and spending time in the North Carolina Mountains with family.
In the 70’s, Mokher Plumbing’s work was focused on hospitals, schools, and high-rise condominiums. But the construction boom came to an end, so the focus shifted to service repairs, an area that remained constant. Scott and his brother provide a hands-on, personalized service to each and every one of its clients. During the 80’s they expanded the business to include bathroom and kitchen remodeling.
Scott explained that there are certain things that you can do to avoid major damages. Check your water heater, toilets, and faucets for leaks. In addition, a lot of plumbing problems are related to flushable products, which are not flushable, according to Scott. He also recommended vinegar and hot water for sinks.
Sanitary systems in old houses are becoming a problem. So, it’s important to have a good sanitary inspection before you buy a house to detect all the hidden costs.
Thanks Scott for all the useful information!
